New Media 100: Anna Svidersky

anna sviderskyI’m sure there are some folks who are going to be like, Who is Anna Svidersky? The truth of the matter this pick was the easiest one I’ve ever had to make. I was sitting in a jail cell in Mexico and she came to mind. I was looking back on my year and I think the passing of Anna Svidersky and the outpouring of support to her family and friends using YouTube and Myspace really made me realize how much ‘New Media’ is about real people making a difference and sharing their voice.

Anna Svidersky not only changed the world by living, but she changed the world in dying. She’s left a huge impression on my heart and soul. She impacted many and really helped fuel the growth of interaction in a new way online. Thanks for being apart of our world. You will be remembered and cherished.

Videos memorializing her passing have been viewed a cumulative 7 million times on YouTube.

  3. hey i am really sorry to hear about what happened to anna i just lost some one too my cousin steven who killed to people and then lattley killed his self in the head with a gun :( i really miss him alot and i dont no why but i miss anna too and i am crying right now just bye watching the movies on her will i am out love ya all A.K.A AND ANNA LEAVE IN PEACE WE ALL MISS YOU HUN LOVEEEE YA (l)(k)(l)
