The End of Wallstrip

After Howard Lindzon jumped on board with video blog Wallstrip everyone assumed this was a great idea. But after shucking 20k a month to hire producers, actors, and people to make his ego feel good. Howard Lindzon could be showing signs of regret or desperation.

253729201 0606874745 m The End of WallstripWallstrip’s founder Howard Lindzon had hired Prince Campbell to consult on the project, the once famous blogger who seems to have disappeared after allegations of fraud, and misuse of finances from various past investors, and clients.

Now Lindsay Campbell (of no relation to Prince Campbell) , Howard Lindzon’s host could be on the outs with a big ticket media company quietly looking to snag her. My props to Lindsay if this rumor is true.

I personally can’t think anyone is in their right mind to invest 20k a month into a project that only gets a few thousand viewers. But dumber things have been done.

Dont’ know what Wallstrip is? Don’t worry about it. Just go check out these hot clips of Lindsay doing some Volvo commercials. It’s far more interesting.

29 people thinks stuff!

  1. You seem almost happy that Wallstrip is having problems.

Is there something personal between you and the people at Wallstrip? Is this just an objective observation?

Just curious why anyone would revel in the problems of another blogger/website?

By Roy on December 31, 2006 7:33 am

  2. Dave – thanks for the links.

For someone with so many flameouts, yelling fire is shameless, but you have no shame. Nor do you have any facts.

To be clear, Chartreuse was a friend and never hired for anything on Wallstrip or paid any consulting fees. A Friend that was happy to help out. A friend with some health and heart problems.

Someone that helped you out a lot who you are flaming here as well.

By howard lindzon on December 31, 2006 7:34 am

  3. Roy – there are no problems. Just 50 plus strong shows.

By howard lindzon on December 31, 2006 7:36 am

  4. I probably should have used the term, “alleged problems.”

I don’t know anyone involved in this. But if 901am can’t provide some facts. I think it hurts their credibility.

By Roy on December 31, 2006 7:49 am

  5. Nah, not flaming.

Did you help me Howard? Sorry to be so negative. Anyhow no problem on the links. I’d meant to talk about it sooner. Still dont see how you are in your right mind.

I guess I should have slept a bit more before doing the post.

    Slow news week.

  6. You know you’re doing well when people you don’t know and have never heard of are claiming that you’re “over”. Thanks for the props!

  7. Lindsay I actually said some nice things about you. :)

How was the Colorado snowstorm btw? See that’s how you have a conversation.
Passive aggresive is the nature you took instead deflecting comments to the general public instead of to someone.
Call me assinine but its a traditional defense mechanism used by lots and lots of women. No offense. But this post
was mostly me pushing howard’s buttons since I saw him begging for links and publicity the other day.

    Cha Cha folks.

By David Krug on December 31, 2006 8:21 am

  8. Howard,

Fact: you spend to much money on Wallstrip

Fact: Prince Campbell was a scammer.

Fact: Lindsay did do some other work that’s all I’m referencing really. I watched her own vid to find that out.

Fact: I spelled Lindsay’s name right even though my gut told me their was an E not an A.

I did rather well in fact. And it was Prince who told me 20k. So heck what do I know.

By David Krug on December 31, 2006 8:32 am

  9. That’s what blogs are all about. Guessing. How about listing some things to make it better rather than be a dick about it. By the way, I would lose that Cha Cha thing.

By Shane on December 31, 2006 8:35 am

  10. Ooh Shane. You have a point. Here we go. Me listing stuff I would do better.

Less Newsy. More like down home lets talk about stocks from a local non news anchor point of view. Less plastic more reality.

Tell me why I should invest in stocks when I’m a work at home mom.

90% of us know its all you wall street boys who are watching the show.

    All 2k of you.

By David Krug on December 31, 2006 8:37 am

  11. You must be watching your site closely. It took less than a minute for you to reply. I think Howard would be the first one to agree with you on almost every point you said. He has personally mentioned that he want to move towards all of those. To be a success it needs to appeal to those not in the market yet. You actually have some good ideas. Why don’t you do an article on that rather than slam it. You don’t have to be different. You can bring just as much attention to yourself by giving your own postive idea. I do like your blog by the way. Did you take my advice on the Cha Cha thing. I really do think it would be a good New Years resolution.

By Shane on December 31, 2006 8:46 am

  12. Here are the facts – Chartreuse flamed your failed pop crunch show before it failed.

You asked Chartreuse for a review and than when he gave it you cried.

The show was a disaster. What facts do you have that Chartreuse was a scammer.

So chartreuse is now a scammer. Why?

As per your “all 2 k of you” where are your facts. As mentioned in my post you linked to, we have shows with over 16,000 views a day.

Again, thanks for watching the show. We consider you a fan.

By howard lindzon on December 31, 2006 8:52 am

  13. Good God, 20k a month on that? Some people really don’t deserve to have money I guess.

By James on December 31, 2006 8:52 am

  14. I’m talking daily viewers Howard not surf to surf views. Heck i could go back to my show which i did cancel and I’m glad I did.

I pulled your numbers from your Revver hits since thats how you are distributing it on Your Site.

Proof about Prince. How about this for puddings sake:
    http://www.matrixwatch.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=607d7443eeb56d6932107433300a8835&f=44

I do like certain aspects of the show and wasnt overly critical of it. Just laffing around about it. Causing a stir on the last day of the year.

Proof is relative btw. If I wake up and say I dont like you and I print that do I have to produce fact that I dont like you? Or will me saying it enough make people believe I dont like you?

By David Krug on December 31, 2006 8:57 am

  15. Good find on Charteruse/Prince. Sounds like he scammed you from your tone. That is awful.

Causing a stir is easy, calling this post a conversation with your flame title to get Lindsay and I over to your site is the real begging.

By howard lindzon on December 31, 2006 9:28 am

  16. Howard,
It’s all about attention. That’s the point of this whole post. You have to find a way to get the attention of people in your niche.

Think if you had done a post about Apple’s Mini Gate last week. I know you were on vacation.

But people really like to Oogle a bit. A bit of spice in your stock reports would be interesting. And cause people to comment.

Which was what the point of this post was.

    Since you did ask.

16 comments on a post on December 31st and a Sunday. With methods like this you should be able to get 50 in no time.

By David Krug on December 31, 2006 9:33 am

  17. Shane,
I will have to stop that whole Cha Cha thing its really annoying. Thanks for stopping by.

I always have a strange way of laying out my ‘ideas’.

It’s part of my unorthodox methodology.

By David Krug on December 31, 2006 9:37 am

  18. Howard,
BAck to the failing crying talk. 2006 was all about failures. It was awesome. It takes 1000 failures to achieve one success. Just ask most VC guys. It’s learning when to spot success when you have it.

Crying is something real men do. I’m not afraid to admit it. I cry. I cry alot. I cry when I fail. I love it. It’s like taking a shower.

I don’t however whine. And at the end of the day. Where the hell are my critics. I usually outlast them.

They end up in some forgotten pool and I’m still here.

By David Krug on December 31, 2006 9:41 am

  19. Thx Dave

As per this being how to get 50 comments – no thanks.

I will leave this to you now.

By howard lindzon on December 31, 2006 9:51 am

  20. You missed the point. You need to start reading more Brian Clark and the art of how to do Post Titles and then make your show more human to match the post titles.

That’s all I’m saying. I’m not saying you have to raise a controversy. I’m saying you need make it more lively.

Although I watch Wallstrip more than I do most videoblogs. Which is nil. Although I do watch Zefrank daily.

By David Krug on December 31, 2006 9:54 am

  21. I think Howard and the Wallstrip team are doing a great job. I’m not too thrilled with the current layout of the site but show is entertaining and easy to digest.

I think WS is just undergoing growing pains.

WS is the only video blog I watch because its funny and Lindsay is hot.

By Tom on December 31, 2006 12:30 pm

  22. Well, at least it’s safe to say that Lindsay Campbell will be a great success despite all of dis, dat and de other tings!

I’ve only seen that Earthlink commercial (was there only one?) .. thanks for linking the Volvo ones!

btw // Happy New Year! We just got dumped 29cm of snow overnite, and 12cm coming later tonight // Thanks North Dakota! lol

    By HART (1-800-HART) on December 31, 2006 2:28 pm

  23. I have removed a comment allegedly coming from Chartreuse for legal reasons.

    Thx for understanding.

  24. Hearing rumors like these about Chartreuse is real bad. I used to love reading his posts. He was a great writer, and his blog was my daily read.

I still can`t believe a writer like him need to scam anyone, he can earn thousand $$$ per month by his writing alone.

By Ankit on January 1, 2007 4:30 am

  25. I agree Ankit. It’s a real shame.

Here’s the latest project I worked on.
