Cisco developing social networking tools
Cisco Systems announced that they are developing tools that would allow their customrs create social networking sites. This is an obvious move for Cisco given its recent acquisition of Utah Street Networks.
They also own Five Across which provides software for social networks.
Cisco’s Chief Development Officer Charlie Giancarlo, speaking at the Reuters Global Technology, Media and Telecoms Summit in New York, made the announcement.
“There are a set of capabilities we’re working on we believe will help enable social networking and help information find people rather than people find information. That’s something we’re pursuing very aggressively,” Giancarlo said.
