Clearspring opens leading widget platform to developer community
Clearspring Technologies, a widget syndication company, announced the release of its Community Platform to developers for full production use. Leveraging the same technologies used by major brands including NBC Universal, RockYou, CBS, the Indianapolis Colts and the NBA, the Community Platform provides developers with a full set of tools to transform content and applications into widgets, syndicate widgets easily across multiple platforms, and leverage robust analytics to track the spread of widgets in real-time across the web, all for free.
“Developers are the foundation of the web,” said Hooman Radfar, founder of Clearspring. “Clearspring is excited to join the developer community and provide these free resources and tools to power its widget syndication efforts. Our vision is to create an offering that we shape hand-in-hand with the rest of the community.”
For example, a developer may want to use the platform to create a widget that enables users to play a game. This game widget can then be syndicated and grabbed by anyone. Regardless of the particular use, the Community Platform gives developers the ability to package rich content and applications into easily distributed widgets that can then be shared with others.
