Comcast opens Second Life virtual theme park
Comcast announced today the joining of the Second Life online community bandwagon. Their new destination in this popular virtual world is called Comcastic Island.
Comcastic Island, said Comcast, is a virtual theme park which offers a number of “speed-themed” experiences for Second Life users to enjoy. These include a race track, jet ski track and jet pack course. Second Life residents also can visit the Comcastic Island Entertainment Center, which will host a range of concert performances by Second Life and real-world artists.
Other offerings of Comcastic Island, which can be visited here by Second Life users, include an expo center housing “speed” exhibits and the labs where people can enjoy other themed experiences. Comcast plans to add more attractions in the future.
