DMOZ is one of those projects where you would love them to leverage that massive community of dedicated editors into something more than a static directory.

I only noticed something was awry at DMOZ when I launched a non-profit project a few weeks back and thought I may as well list it only to see submissions were blocked. It didn't phase me though which is kind of sad because back in the day I would have cared.

DMOZ may be yesterday's news, but is there still a place for human-powered search? We at Bessed.com think so, and welcome Webmasters to submit with us (free) and not have to wait light years to see if you'll be accepted.
