eBay’s Kijiji.com enters US
eBay rolled out its free classifieds services, Kijiji.com, in the US despite owning 25% of the more popular Craigslist. Kijiji.com is expected to monetize the free service using contextual advertising.
“We look at it as competition to Craigslist and other platforms. But we think there is room for competition,” Hani Durzy, an eBay spokesman, said.

Canadians have more than one alternative as far as classifieds advertising is concerned.Many still use craiglist.
New classifieds sites keep budding every now and then.The latest is NortAd classifieds,a completely free site to post ads in toronto,ottawa,vancouver and montreal

I too agree with what eBay spokesman, said. There is always room for competition and not only for craigslist and kijiji but also for all other big classified sites like hindlist.com
