wretch.cc is really a big community for Chinese blogger. But however, their server is slow, and full of ads on the pages. The only superiority is that they have a large number of users.
I hate this blogger community actually. They do not accept their user to customize their blog pages, they only offer to change themes. Also, their user cannot link to others out of wretch.cc community and they don't accept trackback from other community.

It boomed for its free offering of large space for photo sharing, though debated that it unfairly used the academic resource/bandwidth of the starters' university in its early day. It's forced to move their servers out of school, because the sale of ADs. After commercialized, losing the free bandwidth in the university, it's becoming notorious for the sharp opinion against some big ISPs in controlling the bandwidth toward them and making their service slower. But due to its big number of users in Taiwan, it was acquired by Yahoo! Taiwan recently, arising the argument over the Anti-Trust in the Web business in Taiwan. This deal is being investigated by the Taiwanese Government and waiting for approval.

Wretch started with blogging and now slowly expand into social networking where you have a personal album, guestbook, blog and etc.

On top of that, it also host quite a lot of celebrity (mainly those from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China) blogs.
