“Internet People” cartoon captures eyes and ears of the web with 3 million views

In just over a week, “Internet People” has swept the Internet as one of the most-viewed, biggest original series debuts on the web, with more than 3 million views and over 10,000 comments.

“Internet People” is the first episode of The Meth Minute 39, a new series produced for the online animation network Channel Frederator by New York based cartoonist Dan Meth. Set to music by Meth and Micah Frank, “Internet People” captures and celebrates the most outrageous and memorable Internet experiences and pop-culture moments the world has shared over the past five years.

“‘Internet People’ is a great example of how the Internet can produce hits with TV-like audiences that pop the culture and spread like wildfire, and a validation of our super-distribution strategy through key partnerships like iTunes, YouTube and MySpace,” said Herb Scannell, CEO of Next New Networks. “Once ‘Internet People’ was released onto these key sites, the appeal, humor and quality of the show did the rest to spread across the Internet and capture the eyes of millions.”
