Scared of updating to Wordpress 2.1?

Lorelle have a great post up on curing Wordpress 2.1 paranoia.

The biggest fear I hear over and over again is that people do not want to upgrade because they are afraid their WordPress Plugin won’t work. This is a good example of how important WordPress Plugins are to our WordPress blogs, as well as how dependent we’ve become on them.

Basically, there’s no reason not to head over to Lorelle’s and see what it’s all about. Sometimes there’s just nothing to add, even for me. Go figure…

  1. I tried a fresh, clean install of WP 2.1 on an unused domain and I got more error messages than I’ve ever seen before, posted (begged) for help at the Wordpress forums here with no luck. There’s not a chance in a million that I’m upgrading my existing blog portfolio to WP 2.1 when it wont even install on a fresh load properly…and to be fair, I’m not bunny when it comes to WP installs either, I’ve literally done 100’s over the years! :-)

  2. I had some problems too, actually, but I haven’t been able to recreate them. I did live blog them though… Still, it would appear that we’re in a minority.
