Social networking sites not cool for many UK companies
In the U.S., many companies are already embracing social networking and Web 2.0 sites like LinkedIn and Facebook to recruit employees and explore business opportunities. But in the UK, the sentiment is not the same.
A poll among 300 UK HR decision-makers shows that 65% opt to ban social networking access outright. Moreover, 1 out of 5 HR decision makers are ignorant of social networking sites.
Of course, there are some advantages and disadvantages of using social networking sites. What is important is to educate these professionals so they will know what they are missing. Hopefully, it will help them make intelligent decisions about the value of social networking.
