Tween destination imbee.com expands offerings during Internet Safety Month
Coinciding with Internet Safety Month, imbee.com, the first parent-approved social networking destination for tweens, announced enhanced media features which enable the most comprehensive and authentic user generated experience for their target demographic (kids from 8-14). Expanding far beyond its public beta incarnation, these new offerings establish the network as the premier destination to help foster creativity and build a more purposeful relationship between tweens and the Internet.
Unlike the majority of tween oriented destinations which are either fantasy based virtual worlds or branded game and entertainment portals, imbee.com supports user generated content that is not corporate defined, allowing its members to personalize their own online user experience. The new offerings include: enhanced user interface; audio and video; exclusive media library; trading card maker; and widget library.
Because of its security features, imbee.com is also the only tween social network to have successfully launched a free school blogging program, now utilized by more than 500 schools and school districts representing every state in the continental United States.

This is a great service. As a parent of two kids (9 and 11) I wanted to find a place where my kids could be in community and where my wife and I could check in to make sure they are secure.
This is a neat idea. And it’s free!
