When in Canada, don’t make jokes about killing the Prime Minister
A Canadian man faced court Wednesday on the charge of “uttering threats to cause death” after posting on his blog his desire to kill Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
Patrick Fenton of Canmore, Alberta, pleaded guilty to the charge and will be subject to psychological assessment prior to sentencing.
Fenton’s lawyer told the court that his client meant no harm and that the threats were of a purely “satirical nature”.
Lesson to be learned: don’t make jokes about killing the Prime Minister in Canada, for example “f*ck, I’d like to canuck the head moose” can get you into trouble.
