“World is Flat” author partners with MSNBC
Thomas L. Friedman, New York Times columnist and author of best-selling book The World Is Flat: A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century, has inked a deal with MSNBC for a new online program anchored on his book’s theme. Launch date is on September.
To quote from his personal site, The World is Flat is “is the timely and essential update on globalization, its successes and discontents, powerfully illuminated by one of our most respected journalists.”
This news site highlights video interviews about newsmakers of globalization. Friedman’s first guest is Bill Gates and MSNBC will supplement these interviews with related articles and social networking feature to enable avid readers to share their opinions and raise their questions.
MSNBC.com vp advertising sales Kyoo Kim expects this program to provide compelling attraction during peak hours.
“We felt we needed a strong branded content experience targeted at a sophisticated, business-minded audience,” he said.
