CIO and LinkedIn form partnership for CIOs and senior IT execs
CIO and LinkedIn have entered into a partnership that will serve the growing needs and demands of the CIO and senior IT community. By connecting CIO with LinkedIn, these executives will have new ways to connect with their peers and access information through Company Insider, Groups, and Events, bringing the power of social networking to senior-level IT professionals.
Company Insider allows CIO.com visitors to see members of a featured company’s LinkedIn network when reading a story about that company. CIO has created a CIO Group where the CIO community can connect and collaborate. This opt-in feature will be promoted to qualified LinkedIn members. Visitors will also be able to share CIO content with their connections on LinkedIn without leaving CIO.com starting in June. In addition, Job Insider allows users who see a Help Wanted ad on CIO.com to identify who at the company is part of the job seeker’s network to aid their search process.
The Events feature allows this busy audience to maximize their event participation by fostering community between face-to-face events with interaction before, during, and after CIO executive conferences. This encourages discussion, onsite meeting planning, and online interaction on an ongoing basis stimulated by the event and the LinkedIn network.
This arrangement is the first of its kind between LinkedIn and a technology media company. Both CIO and LinkedIn will benefit by increased traffic, new users, and enhanced professional social networking capabilities. CIO and LinkedIn will run promotions on each others sites.
