Fave Media raises $1.6 million for local search engine Getfave.com
Fave Media Inc., the creator of Getfave.com, a local search engine pioneering the use of online video advertising, has raised $1.6 million in a funding round completed in January 2008 from a variety of private investors.
“These funds will allow us to continue to drive traction in the Chicago market while preparing for a national launch. Later this year, we hope to demonstrate that our complete operational model works in another city on one of the coasts and may seek venture capital to fund this,” co-founder Jon Seymour said.
Getfave.com is a Chicago-based search engine that delivers local and relevant results to users by geographic proximity with online video advertising.
Since its web launch in October 2007, monthly visitors to Getfave.com have increased more than eight times and video viewership has increased more than ten times in just 90 days, with currently over 80,000 unique visitors and over 50,000 video plays per month.
