Groove Mobile Signs with Indie Mobile to expand library of independent tracks
Groove Mobile announced a worldwide licensing deal with Indie Mobile that will extend Groove Mobile’s independent music library to include multiple mobile content rights including full music tracks, videos and realtones from an extensive catalog of 70,000 songs.
Groove Mobile will work closely with Indie to explore myriad direct-to-consumer opportunities at concerts and other live events, such as full track, off-portal downloads.
With 60 million transactions completed since launching the service in 2004, Groove Mobile has continued to strengthen its command of the marketplace through recent distribution deals with Bell Canada, Vodafone, 3 UK, Universal Music Group and Sony BMG. A pioneer in the mobile music industry, Groove Mobile sold 400,000 audio singles in its first year alone and in July of last year enabled nearly three million downloads in a single month. In addition to this latest deal with Indie, Groove Mobile provides music fans access to the content of other leading independents including, The Orchard, Beggars Group, Redeye Distribution, IRIS Distribution, INgrooves, GrooveSource, IODA, Artspage and Phonofile.
