Is there a conspiracy behind cut undersea cables in the Middle East?

internet cable
You might remember our post about the breakdown of 2 undersea cables that damaged Middle East and India. Only a week after this incident, the mystery has gone deeper. Apparently, the timing and location led many people to manufacture crazy yet probable speculations.

Initially reported caused by anchoring ship, there are now conspiracy theories this is a well-planned covert assault to deprive Internet access to Iran and even allow American spies to keep track of e-mails exchanges in the Islamic world.

So what happened to the anchoring ship theory? Well, it reached a dead end. Egyptian authorities reviewed its footage and found no vessels passing the coast of Alexandria, 12 hours before and after the incident. Moreover, the area is marked a no-go zone so it’s unlikely for ships to dare trespass this location.

Is this the start of the so-called information warfare? Of course, the crisis management team handling this denied these speculations.

In the meantime, the people and businesses in the affected areas are experiencing slow service or no connection. Many are losing money due to this massive disruption. So, I say cut all these wild musings and just finish the repair!
