Local.com triples technology licensees, reaches record network traffic
Local.com Corporation revealed twelve new license agreements for its local search Patent No. 7,231,405. The company also announced the expansion of the Local Connect search network to 570 regional media sites, and a record 4.7 million monthly unique visitors in February.
The patent licenses have been integrated into new and revised contracts for Local.com’s Local Connect platform, which was expanded last year via Local.com’s acquisition of PremierGuide. Participating sites have grown from approximately 400 in the middle of 2007 to 570 at the end of February.
Local.com’s Local Connect search network reached record traffic of 4.7 million monthly unique visitors in February 2008, up from 3.9 million in January. The network is one of the largest local search syndication networks, publishing business information on over 570 regional media sites, including newspapers, TV and radio stations, and city portals.
