Murdoch withdraws from Newsday acquisition
Just last week, Rupert Murdoch, Chairman and CEO of News Corp., seemed so sure that he’ll be owning Newsday. He gave this week as his most likely time to close the deal.
Over the weekend, however, Cablevision appeared that it will likely succeed in nabbing Newsday. The New York Times reports that Rupert Murdoch has pulled out after Cablevision’s $650 million acquisition bid, highly favorable than his $580 million offer.
