PodShow’s “Backstage Pass” hits one million views

PodShow announced that its show, “BackStage Pass,” was viewed more than one million times during its 10-day run of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. This announcement comes on the heels of BackStage Pass’ debut at the UK’s Digital Music Awards, which also attracted more than one million views. Peak viewing times for both events were more than 20 minutes, with overall viewing time for the SBIFF at 22 minutes.

“BackStage Pass” is a hugely popular behind-the-scenes entertainment show available on PodShow’s live channel, thePLUS. ThePLUS enables millions of viewers around the world to tune in simultaneously and contribute to the programming of the channel.

SBIFF was produced by PodShow and MediaTrust. Scott Parent, vice president of search and social media optimization division at MediaTrust, together with his production team, captured more than 30 exclusive interviews from A-list Hollywood talent during the 10-day event. PodShow teams designed a complete media experience around the live content and used its network to deliver and promote the live stream. Footage was packaged into nine “episodes” for thePLUS, as well as Hi-Definition video podcasts – a first in the film festival industry.

To date, it is estimated that nearly half a million unique visitors watched the SBIFF, returning on average two times for the duration of the event, generating an average viewing time of 22 minutes each.
