Sex offender runs for mayor
The AP reports that a registered sex offender arrested in an Internet sex sting four years ago is running for mayor of Wilmer, a small Dallas suburb. James B. Sliter, 42, said he needed to prove he could be an asset to his community. Sliter was arrested after arranging to have sex with someone he met on the Internet who he thought was a 15-year-old girl.
