Social worker gets into social networking to help children in foster care

Stewart Gordon, a California social worker, is taking an innovative, high-tech approach to solving a longstanding problem by launching FosterCareCentral.org. The online community hopes to bring information, resources and people together to improve the lives of foster-care children nationwide.
Foster Care Central is the first social network for people dedicated to enhancing the lives of foster youth. The website capitalizes on the power of Web 2.0 technology and the popularity of social networking to offer a variety of interactive features, including discussion forums, resource listings, groups, videos, and education and training.
