Sohu.com’s online game services suspended for China’s national mourning
Sohu.com, China’s leading online media, communications, search, online games and mobile value-added services company, announced that in response to the announcement by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China of a three-day national mourning for earthquake victims from May 19 to May 21, Sohu suspended its online game services on May 19, and will resume at 1:30AM on May 22.
Based on the latest operational trend of its online game business and taking the 3-day services suspension into consideration, Sohu estimates online game revenues for the second quarter of 2008 to be between US$43 million to US$45 million, unchanged from the company guidance issued on April 28, 2008.
