Userplane positions company for online video with player

Userplane announced the release of Userplane Mediaplayer, a free n application that enables web publishers to offer easy and scalable video uploading and playback capabilities on their sites.

The Userplane Mediaplayer application complements the current Userplane offering of robust communications software applications that includes Webchat, Webmessenger, Webrecorder and Desktop, and can be deployed quickly and easily on any online community Web site. Upcoming versions of Userplane Mediaplayer will include Userplane’s Minichat software, which gives users the ability to chat live about videos as they view them.

Websites can easily transfer videos using Userplane Mediaplayer’s white-label uploader. In future versions, the application’s embedded sharing and distribution tools will allow for video sharing via email and bookmarks. Mediaplayer’s custom skinning functionality will enable users to create and brand a unique look for their user interfaces. In addition, users will be able to give access to their personal videos by embedding Mediaplayer in their social networking profiles.

Offering a video player is not the main play here for Userplane. Eventually offering video advertising will obviously be the money-maker for them.
