Twitter Censors Tila Tequila’s #Farts

Four hours ago, MySpace queen Tila Tequila encouraged her Twitter followers to make the hashtag #FARTS a trending topic. They succeeded, putting #FARTS just below Michael Jackson in the number three spot.

Apparently, Twitter doesn’t like that sort of thing. They just pulled #FARTS from the trending topics. Twitter normally pulls trending topics they suspect to be spam — but does an honest show of fandom, however quirky, count as spamming? More to the point, how could they possibly brand Tila, a Verified Account holder, as a spammer?

this is crap!!! tila started goin off on the government… then she was labeled a “spammer” for doing nothing more than she has done lottss times before… a trending topic is what it is because so many people reply to it.. thats the point of a trend, alot of people respond and its repeated many times. there has to be some “other” reason she was labeled a spammer…

Then she tries #followtila, then today it’s #TilaArmy. This time, she’s doubling the effect by replying to everyone who uses the hashtag, using the very same hashtag in her replies.
She’s refining her technique. Wonder if she can beat the current top topic, the Google Chrome OS.

Because she’s an idiot who decided to popularize a dumbass tag just for kicks. Leave it for topics that might actually spark interest and such, not pointless non-sense to further her undeserving fame.
