Motorola Announces Razr i
The Motorola Razr i was unveiled during a short event held in London. It is actually a familiar device because it is a reworking of the Motorola Droid Razr M that was shown at the Motorola and Verizon event held in New York. The most significant difference between the two units is, of course, the processor. The Motorola Razr i’s Intel Atom processor runs at 2Ghz, which makes it the world’s first smartphone to reach this clock speed. This is going to be one fast smartphone.
The Intel Atom processor used here is a single core chip but Intel claims that the 32nm manufacturing process and its patented Hyperthreading technology will make it run faster than dual-core equivalents when it comes to activities like browsing and gaming.
The Intel Atom processor also helps the 8 megapixel camera. The camera now takes a second to setup and can shoot 10 photos in burst mode in also one second. In fact, the boast is that it is faster than most DSLRs.
The Motorola Razr i will have a 4.3 inch AMOLED display, Kevlar, aluminum and Gorilla Glass and it’s also going to be water resistant. It will also have NFC and Android Beam. It will be running Android 4.0.4 but can be upgraded to Jelly Bean.
The Razr i will be sold for £342, or $555.
