Internet users in India, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt and UAE must be going crazy these days due to slow or even no Internet connection caused by the breakdown of 2 cables in the Mediterranean Sea.
According to Techtree, an anchoring ship caused this accident that crippled 60% of normal Internet services in India and 70% in Egypt. Even though the problem is already identified, repairs will take a week or two to achieve full restoration.
Fortunately, the lucrative BPO in India is not affected but Internet cafes and regular online users are extremely distressed. Internet service providers cannot do anything but downgrade its service.
