Motorola Announces Razr i

Motorola has announced a new smartphone to add to its growing lineup. The Motorola Razr i is an Intel Atom powered phone, and the first product of the partnership between Motorola and Intel.

The Motorola Razr i was unveiled during a short event held in London. It is actually a familiar device because it is a reworking of the Motorola Droid Razr M that was shown at the Motorola and Verizon event held in New York. The most significant difference between the two units is, of course, the processor. The Motorola Razr i’s Intel Atom processor runs at 2Ghz, which makes it the world’s first smartphone to reach this clock speed. This is going to be one fast smartphone. [Read more…]

Nokia Cuts Lumia 900 Price to $50

The Nokia Lumia 900 was launched by Nokia with a lot of media coverage and buzz. It was touted as one of the new products that will help Nokia regain lost ground in the mobile phone market. But the launch of the product has been mired with various issues, among them problems with accessing the internet or getting a phone signal, which made the phones useless for the most part. Nokia even decided to give $100 credits for Lumia 900 users who were affected by these problems. But even with the relatively affordable price of this Windows 7.5 powered phone, it was still not performing as expected sales wise. [Read more…]

UK Phone Users Text More Than They Make Phone Calls

A study made by Ofcom on the mobile phone habits of mobile phone users in the UK revealed that about 58 percent of users texted people every day in 2011, only 47 percent of them used their phones to make a voice call daily.

The study is part of the more comprehensive annual Communications Market Report that was published just this week. According to the report, the average mobile phone user in the UK sent about 50 texts last year. This is 200 percent more than the texts that UK users were sending four years ago. It was also in 2011 when  that making voice calls finally showed a decline in its practice. The study revealed that there was a decline of one percent in the number of calls made in 2011 compared to the number of calls recorded in the previous year. [Read more…]

ZTE to Announce New “Advanced Gaming Smartphone” Next Week

Smartphone users who are serious about gaming will have something to look forward to next week when ZTE releases a new smartphone that has gaming in its DNA.

ZTE made an announcement through Twitter that it is going to launch a new advanced gaming smartphone at a special event in London. The phrases “advanced gaming smartphone” came from ZTE itself so it’s going to really fire up the interest of smartphone gamers. [Read more…]
