Iloho Simplifies Networking and Navigation

September 4, 2023 By Cristina Ledesma

iloho.pngIloho announced a new messaging function and site upgrade to simplify networking and navigation for its users. Iloho’s messaging system makes sharing travel information quicker and easier; the new look homepage and instructional landing page simplify site navigation and enhance user experience.

Iloho users can now share travel information and interact more effectively via the site’s own user-friendly messaging system. As well as further facilitating inter-site communication, the messaging system allows members to mail outside contacts, making it easy for users to share information with an even wider group of travellers. Members can access their mailbox from every page on the site through a static “mail” icon in the header.

Navigation on the homepage has also been improved; a newly designed sidebar provides a summary of the different areas of the site and the most popular content from each. From the new sidebar members can also access their account settings, recommended travel podcasts and audiobooks, and the latest deals from isango!, the travel experiences specialist. Iloho’s interactive world map has also been expanded, making searching for destination specific travel information even speedier.

To make iloho more visually dynamic, users can now add an image to the news stories they post. When a user submits a travel story, iloho searches the source for images and displays those available. The user then selects their preferred image for it to be displayed next to the story’s synopsis. Other visual changes include the addition of a rotational “Landmarks” slideshow on the homepage, which will show the week’s most popular user-generated travel photography.

Twitter launches people search

August 11, 2023 By Rhiza Sanchez

Twitter, the startup that made social networking slash micro-blogging the ‘in’ thing on the web, launches the people search, an easy way to find twitter-ers to follow.

Whether you’re looking for a specific person (i.e., you can take the chance and search for the complete name), or you simply want to find people within a particular location, or with the same interests, twitter’s people search can work both ways. It searches through profile information such as name, location, bio, and url, and returns your query. The twitter people search field appears on the sidebar of your twitter homepage only when you’re logged in. Search results come out alongside a one-click follow button so you can immediately add people to your friends’ list as soon as you “found” them.

Along with this, Twitter also announces its partnership with MTV for the Video Music Awards next month. MTV Moonman, MWA’s very own icon, will be twittering from Las Vegas during the whole weekend before the music awards night, which will happen on Sunday, September 9.

With more and more micro-blogging platforms sprouting on the web and following its lead, Twitter sure is on a roll to secure its spot.

Twitter gets funding from Union Square Ventures

August 7, 2023 By Minic Rivera

twitter.jpgTwitter today announced through its blog that they have raised funding from Union Square Ventures.

“From some of his early writing about Twitter we had a hunch Fred Wilson was someone we’d get along with. After we met with Fred and his team, we knew we wanted to work together. As Fred’s written in his post about the news, Twitter is going to use this funding to grow our resources and focus on the important tasks ahead,” the Twitter blog post said.

Twitter will also continue to work with Charles River Ventures. No figures were released about the investment from Union Square Ventures.
