Wanna get wet? Join the largest virtual water fight on Gaia

November 18, 2022 By Leo Blanco

gaia.jpg In case you missed the summer fun, it’s not yet over! Gaia Online, the fastest growing online hangout for teens, today announced its first annual virtual Summer Festival with water fights, pool parties and the First Gaia Online Trilogy Film.

“We are so excited to launch the first Gaia Summer Festival as it gives our users a truly unique way to interact and enjoy the latest features that they had a huge part in implementing. We will be continuing to add virtual events like this in the future due to the overwhelming positive response from new and old members alike,” Gaia CEO Craig Sherman said.

Users will receive free water balloons through out the site simply by inviting their friends to join, participating in various games, and hanging out in the towns. Over 350,000 users have already been granted virtual water balloons in pre-festival activities. Gaians are actually able to take their water balloons, enter towns, and throw them at other users. In addition to this, they are able to engage in an intense and exciting water war between four of the cities in Gaia.

Fox TV launches high school sports video network FoxHiLites

November 18, 2022 By Rhiza Sanchez

Fox TV launches FoxHiLites, an online video sharing site catering to the growing high school sports market.

Accessible in 23 areas now, FoxHiLites allows sports fanatics to share and watch local high school videos while enjoying social network functionalities on the side. There’s also a number of news programs from Fox TV accessible through the site.

What remains to be seen, however, is the network’s ability to attract advertisers, as well as college coaches and managers scouting for local talent. While it doesn’t say that the site is on beta, enhancements and new features are still much expected from this new high school online hang-out.

Healthcommunities.com, Inc. launches Painchannel.com

November 18, 2022 By Cristina Ledesma

frontpageimage.jpgChronic pain affects more than a quarter of the U.S. population over the age of 20, exceeding the total of Americans affected by cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. To help those dealing with chronic pain effectively work with their pain management team, Healthcommunities.com, Inc. has launched painchannel.com.

Painchannel provides free, up-to-date information and opportunities to share stories and discuss their experiences with one another. The new website offers reliable information about conditions that cause both acute and chronic pain, the treatments used to manage pain, diagnostic techniques, descriptions of pain medications, and a worksheet to help patients work with their pain management team.

“With painchannel, we’re targeting a population that can benefit from both sound medical information and the experience of others who are dealing with pain themselves,” said Stanley J. Swierzewski III, M.D., a practicing physician and the founder of Healthcommunities.com. “Browsers can learn from the physician-monitored content on painchannel, and then read stories of how others have dealt with their pain (or tell their own) in a moderated, edited section of the website called Living with Pain. In addition, browsers can join ongoing discussions in forums addressing specific clinical conditions.”
