New media continues to expand its reach and their is continued hope that new media tools and blogging could bring rise to new levels of good reporting in war torn and chaotic regions of the world.
Recently bloggers and journalists in Palestine launched a New Media training organization with the goal of developing a new generation of journalists without borders in Palestine.
The creation of the new non-profit “Journalism Without Borders” (translated from Arabic) was announced during a ceremony held in Hebron, Palestine, on November 21. The new body plans to start its operations in January 2007.
The goals of the organization are to create a new generation of skilled journalists, to monitor press freedom violations, to advocate the reform of Palestinian media laws, to improve the journalist-citizen relationship and to organize journalist exchange programs.
