New media continues to expand its reach and their is continued hope that new media tools and blogging could bring rise to new levels of good reporting in war torn and chaotic regions of the world.
Recently bloggers and journalists in Palestine launched a New Media training organization with the goal of developing a new generation of journalists without borders in Palestine.
The creation of the new non-profit “Journalism Without Borders” (translated from Arabic) was announced during a ceremony held in Hebron, Palestine, on November 21. The new body plans to start its operations in January 2007.
The goals of the organization are to create a new generation of skilled journalists, to monitor press freedom violations, to advocate the reform of Palestinian media laws, to improve the journalist-citizen relationship and to organize journalist exchange programs.

I’ve had a great opportunity to be around a lot of blog sales dating back to The Blog Herald sale in February of this year. I’ve had a chance to see some blogs sell for WAY over there value and some sell for WAY under there value.
There is an approach that must be taken to when analyzing blogs that are for sale. There is some great reasons for buying an establish industry blog, and there are some strong reasons not to. Understanding the valuation of a blog is important before deciding to buy it. Let’s take The Blog Herald, for example.
When we purchased it, it was a Pagerank 7, the industry’s leading authority, and it was a great time for the entire industry. In reality no matter what we did advertising revenue were going to increase, and the only thing we needed to do was continue the pace and power of the former author. With 2-3 people jumping in that shouldn’t be such a problem. Things to consider when buying are blog are really simple.
1. Is the investment something you can recoup in less than 3 years ?
Any blog investment should be something you can realistically recoup on your own, outside of any reliance on partnerships. If you can devote that amount of time then go for it. Otherwise think twice about any blog investment even the small ones.
2. Is the investment worth your time?
Are you really passionate about the subject matter of the website, or blog? If so you should jump in full bore and go for it. You have nothing to lose but your time and money. And you have lots to gain.
3. Will it increase your value in the industry or decrease i ?
With any blog purchase you can find yourself at a complete loss if you fall on your face and ‘ruin’ a blog. Especially a blog of some authority. However if you build that blog to a higher status level you can increase your status in the blogosphere.
Buying a blog is a difficult decision. They don’t maintain themselves. Remember it’s work. Don’t forget that. Any thing worth doing is worth doing right.

The title really sums it up well here. But the following bit of information is hugely valuable. And will surely be one of those lessons that will be etched in our minds here at 901am as we continue to grow.
If you don’t post regularly, people (and search engines) will tend to give your blog less priority. Let’s put aside those who blog as a hobby – that’s a different story.
If you or your Company have a blog or would like to start one, don’t blog once in a blue moon. Blogging is more than sharing infomation – it’s:
* engaging in conversations
* talking to people
* listening to comments and considerations
* providing useful information

A Blogger is a Blogger right? Well when it comes to females in the Venture Capitalist space. Susan Wu is a pioneer. Much like her investment arena. She one of 3 partners who’s heavily involved in Quick Start and her area of passion is virtual worlds. Definetly someone to plug into your rolodex if you are moving into that arena and want a friendly female perspective.
Her new blog Reality should be a great read.
Susan Wu is an associate at Charles River Ventures, and becomes the latest in the rare group of female venture capitalists writing a blog (you can count them on one hand).
The blog is called Reality, a play on the theme of her interest, which is virtual worlds. She’s one of the three partners at CRV who made waves earlier this month after launching the Quickstart seed program for start-ups.
