Tired of copy-pasting tweets to retweet? So am I. That’s why I’m very happy to hear that Twitter is releasing retweet support for its site and API. The feature exists as a sketch on paper right now, but will be tested with a limited pool of Twitter users before everyone can retweet with two clicks.
This is not the first time Twitter has adapted its service to unexpected popular uses. Replies and hashtags were originally unsupported; Twitter merely added support as they became de facto standards among users.
My only complaint is that I won’t be able to attach snarky comments to retweets anymore. That’s what we need next, Twitter: snarky retweet support.
