CellSpin launches mobile micro-blogging for Twitter and Pownce

September 15, 2023 By Dennis Bouchand Leave a Comment

CellSpin is now supporting the sending of ‘tweets’ in all four media types (audio, video, pictures and text) to the popular micro-blogging sites Twitter and Pownce.

Users can post multimedia tweets using the CellSpin mobile application or by using the CellSpin website (though if the latter option is the case, then why not just go to Twitter and Pownce’s respective websites).

The software is now available on over 300 mobile phone models worldwide.

Share Files on Twitter With Tweetcube

September 15, 2023 By Andrew G. R. 1 Comment

The other day at work our e-mail server went down for a few hours.  This presented a problem when there was a file located on my computer that I needed to send to a coworker.  You see, all of our USB ports and disk drives are blocked for ‘security reasons.’

Despite the number of Web 2.0 sites I write about on a daily basis, my mind froze when it came time to simple find some temporary free hosting that would allow my colleague to retrieve a file.

Knowing that Twitter pretty much allows us to do anything these days, I turned to the app for help, and with a quick search, uncovered Tweetcube.  The Website is a great little application that allows you to share images, videos and music (under 10mb) with only a few clicks.  Tweetcube is 100% free.

Files are only stored for 30 days for you and your followers to access, after that, say ‘bye-bye.’  No registration is required and the uploading of documents you do not own the rights to can get you in some trouble.

Upload limits will be increased in the near future and the Website is currently looking for sponsors on their homepage.

Jott Launches Feeds

September 15, 2023 By Andrew G. R. Leave a Comment

Thanks to its top-notch voice recognition system, I have been – and continue to be – a huge fan of Jott. Today they released a new feature called Jott Feeds.

In a nutshell, it lets you listen to your favorite news & RSS feeds, like those from your favorite blogs, Twitter, Google Calendar, or Facebook, all from your phone!

If you already use the Twitter Jott Link, you might be interested in the Twitter Jott Feed. Now, by calling the same Jott number, you can not only Tweet while on the road or away from your desk, but you can also listen to what others are saying. Give it a try:

1. Set up the Twitter Jott Feed here.

2. Call 866-JOTT-123, or your local Canadian number, and say “Jott Feeds” when asked “Who do you want to Jott?”

3. Next, say “Twitter” when asked “Which feed?”

4. Listen to your friends’ updates!

The company is always open to feedback. So let them know how you like the feature.

Google Gets Popularity Crown, Beating Apple, Facebook and Twitter

July 10, 2023 By 901am

There are times when you take survey results with a grain of salt – and for some, this new survey may be one instance you need to do it.

According to a survey conducted by ABC/Washington Post, Google is the most popular company compared to such heavyweights like Apple, Facebook, and Twitter. To make it more eyebrow raising, the poll was conducted during the period when people expressed outrage over Google’s new unified privacy policy (from Mar 28 to April 1). [Read more…]

InstaBG Spruces Up Your Twitter Background

July 7, 2023 By 901am

One sign of a service’s popularity is the proliferation apps related to that service. Take for example Twitter. The microblogging social service is so hugely popular that many companies have developed their own apps that will allow users to access their own Twitter accounts and read others.

But even if Twitter apps for mobile devices are very convenient to use, the whole user experience is still quite different from using Twitter in its original environment – your browser. One of the best reasons to use Twitter using your browser is the personalization you can apply to your Twitter page. If mobile devices have apps for accessing Twitter. The desktop PC also has online services that allow the user to personalize his Twitter page. [Read more…]
