March 18, 2023 By Cristina Ledesma 1 Comment

The Associated Press launched a new Mobile News Network client application optimized for BlackBerry smart phones from Research In Motion (RIM).

Launched in May, the award-winning Mobile News Network is a multimedia news portal providing anytime access to international, national and local news content from an unrivalled network of local media sources. With the emergence of innovative smart phone devices, AP wanted to offer a tailored version of the Mobile News Network for BlackBerry smart phone users on the go.

The Mobile News Network is the first product released by AP’s Digital Cooperative, an initiative aimed at finding new digital outlets for news and information produced by AP members.

The launch of the BlackBerry smart phone version follows AP’s recently announced milestones that the Mobile News Network received more than 16 million page views and more than one million local stories were read in the month of August. For the month of September, the Mobile News Network received more than 26 million page views and more than 1.5 million local stories were read.

January 13, 2023 By 901am

With all of the financial troubles Research in Motion is currently swimming in, it is expected that other companies would begin hovering around the troubled company in the hopes that they can get a bargain out of it when they make their acquisition offers. With RIM’s very dismal first quarter earnings for this year, other companies have smelled the vulnerability of RIM. RIM To Release a 4G PlayBook

January 13, 2023 By 901am

I love writing news about Research in Motion and the BlackBerry. I’m not really a fan of the company or their product but we all know that RIM has been going through some really tough times lately. I admire the company’s tenaciousness and maybe a part of me is hoping they’ll arrive at some kind of formula that would make them bounce back. Okay, not back to the heights that it once enjoyed because that is really asking for a lot, but for it to at least give a good enough fight and still slug it out with Android, iOS and Windows.
