MovieTickets.com poll ranks Harry Potter sequel as most anticipated movie of the coming year

Nine months in advance of its box office debut, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is already casting a spell over moviegoers, according to a poll from MovieTickets.com.

In a survey conducted between Aug. 8 and Oct. 5, nearly 4,000 movie fans who had just purchased tickets at MovieTickets.com weighed in with their picks for the “most anticipated” films over the next 12 months. Rounding out the top three films generating the most interest over the next year were sequels “X- Men Origins: Wolverine” and “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.”

Weblogs Inc. now on its third year with AOL

AOL is celebrating the third anniversary of its acquisition of Weblogs, Inc. this month. In 2005, Weblogs had a large portfolio of niche blogs targeted at business and professional users, in addition to a general readership. Since then, Weblogs has honed its portfolio to 29 blogs focused on major consumer passion points such as technology, autos, finance, video games and travel. Since 2005, Weblogs has seen worldwide unique visitors climb nearly 1,000% (122% annually, on average) and page views rise over 1,500% (154% annually, on average), according to August 2008 comScore Media Metrix.

In addition to Weblogs’ own growth, the acquisition was instrumental to AOL’s launch of successful sites such as TMZ, Asylum, FanHouse, BloggingStocks, and Spinner.

Over the next 12 months, AOL plans to launch of number of new blog brands in important consumer interest areas, as well as aggressively continue the expansion of its blogs internationally.

DailyMotion donates one full day of programming to Obama Biden and McCain/Palin

Dailymotion announced two special days of video programming that will allow users to express themselves in the face of the upcoming US presidential elections.

On two separate days, Dailymotion’s homepage will be dedicated exclusively to the major-party candidates. Starting with John McCain and Sarah Palin today, October 28th, and continuing with Barack Obama and Joe Biden on October 29th, Dailymotion’s US homepage will feature only videos relating to the respective candidates.

Christina Aguilera’s world debut of new music video exclusively via iLike

Social music discovery service iLike announced that the first music video (“Keeps Gettin’ Better”) from Christina Aguilera’s highly anticipated, first-ever Greatest Hits album, Keeps Gettin’ Better – A Decade of Hits, will world premiere on iLike and iLike’s Facebook app today, two weeks before the album becomes exclusively available at Target and Target.com on November 11. This is the first time a major artist has premiered a new music video and teaser clips exclusively on iLike.

Christina Aguilera’s “Keeps Gettin’ Better” video was filmed in Los Angeles and directed by acclaimed feature filmmaker Peter Berg (“Hancock”). In the video, Christina travels through time and fashion in an homage to her ten year career.

One of two brand new tracks on her upcoming Greatest Hits album, “Keeps Gettin’ Better” is the first single and was executive-produced by Christina. The song has already entered the Top 15 at Pop radio after only 7 weeks of airplay and has also been featured on iTunes Top Songs chart.

Offering a stand-alone Internet radio capability with vTuner portal, the WorldRadio is the most advanced Internet radio with maximum worldwide station reach. The device features built-in 6-watt stereo speakers and external audio jacks to connect to headphones or a stereo system and users can sort by genre, country or add their own music.
