Fifteen Percent Now Prefer Watching TV Shows on Tablets, Study Says

Could this be a sign of an impending paradigm shift?

According to a new study funded by Viacom, more people are now watching TV shows on their tablets. In fact, it is the second most popular method of watching shows after TV sets.

According to the Viacom study, about 15 percent of people are now watching their favorite TV series on their tablets.  The survey involved 2,500 people from ages between 8 and 54. The respondents, who came from New York and Los Angeles, were extensively interviewed according to Viacom. The showing of tablets in the survey is quite notable because two years ago, this market segment didn’t even exist. [Read more…]

Amazon Releases New Kindle Fire Update

Amazon released a new update for the Kindle Fire a few days ago. The new update, which was made available either as a direct download or as an over the air update brings in a number of new additions and improvements to Amazon’s hit tablet.

The new 6.3 version of Kindle Fire offers a lot of new improvements to the tablet. There are significant improvements to the Kindle Fire and among these is a feature that now allows users to share actual passages, quotes or personal notes to their friends. [Read more…]

Rumored Google Tablet Could be Out By May

A Google tablet has been a persistent rumor for many months now and the fact that it’s not dying means there’s a certain truth to these rumors.

New information that has come out about the Google tablet comes from an article that appears in Android and Me. According to the article, a source from a supply chain company that operates from the United States shared that a 7-inch tablet could probably be in the market by May and this tablet will have a winner of a price at $149. That is priced even lower than the Amazon Kindle Fire, which is priced at $199. [Read more…]

Apple iPad 2 now only $399

Now that the new iPad has been announced, all of the attention of gadget lovers will be on this newest of Apple’s offerings, anticipating when it will finally be made available for sale. But while all of the attention is on the new kid on the block, the iPad 2 is still very much alive and at a new price point that may actually turn more than a few heads.

Apple has announced that it is not totally discontinuing the iPad 2 but will instead offer it a budget price. The iPad 2 will now only come in two variants the 16GB WiFi only version and the 16GB WiFi/3G version. The former will cost $399 and the latter will sell for $529. [Read more…]

Barnes & Noble to Release New Nook Tablet With Reduced Specs

When Barnes & Noble announced its Nook Tablet a few months back, it placed a lot of emphasis on its features and how it is superior to Amazon’s Kindle Fire Tablet. It did have a lot going for it. It had a more RAM (1GB to 512MB) and storage (16GB to 8GB), and these specs were used to justify its price, which is more expensive than the Kindle Fire (the Nook Tablet is $250 while the Kindle Fire is $199).
