Platform-A to deliver two-day, billion impression ad campaign for T-Mobile

March 20, 2023 By Dennis Bouchand Leave a Comment

AOL’s Platform-A in partnership with T-Mobile USA, launched an unprecedented billion-impression web advertising campaign across Platform-A today and tomorrow. The first-of-its-kind advertising buy underscores Platform-A’s ability to reach more U.S. online consumers than any other online advertising business. Platform-A includes AOL’s owned-and-operated sites, along with the thousands of sites in the Advertising.com third-party network.

Platform-A and T-Mobile collaborated to create the “T-Mobile Billion Block,” the most-expansive two-day ad buy in Platform-A history and will spotlight the T-Mobile G1 with Google, the first Android-powered mobile phone. Over a two-day period, the T-Mobile G1 will dominate a significant amount of AOL and other Platform-A inventory, and it’s estimated that approximately 81.5 million consumers will be exposed to the new phone over the campaign’s 48-hour run.

    MySpace Mobile announces Android application

March 20, 2023 By Dennis Bouchand 1 Comment

MySpace announced a new mobile experience customized for Android and available via the Android Market.

“MySpace users will love the new Android integration with cool features like instant photo uploading and access to the latest shows from their favorite bands,” said John Faith, vice president and general manager of Mobile for MySpace. “We want to ensure that all users have access to their global MySpace network while they’re on-the-go, and we believe Android is a natural fit for an optimized MySpace Mobile experience.”

The MySpace Android application lends itself to a personal, unique MySpace experience and allows for a deep integration with the device including:

    • Instant photo uploading from an Android device to a MySpace profile
    • Check out tour schedules on band profiles
    • View and comment on photos, profiles, and bulletins
    • Search and add new friends
    • Send and read messages
    • Update and view mood and status

The MySpace Android application is integrated exclusively with Shazam, the mobile music discovery provider. The integration allows MySpace users to identify music by holding the phone towards an unknown song and connect to the artist’s MySpace page. From there you can see band information, check out photos of the band or artists and even check Upcoming Shows schedules.

imeem makes Android sing with new app

March 20, 2023 By Dennis Bouchand Leave a Comment

Social music site imeem has launched imeem for Android, a new application that brings free streaming music and personalized radio to T-Mobile’s G1 with Google. The application will be available as a free download through the phone via the Android Market.

imeem for Android helps people easily discover music that matches their tastes. The application enables users to create custom Internet radio stations by searching for specific artists, discover new music through personalized recommendations and listen to the most popular artists in the imeem community. The application also gives people the ability to purchase DRM-free downloads by linking to the Amazon MP3 application on Android.

imeem for Android seamlessly integrates with features on imeem.com. The music people listen to on the go will influence the recommendations they receive on imeem.com, and vice versa.

If users discover new artists while listening to imeem for Android, they can “favorite” those artists and automatically become fans on imeem. Similarly, if they become a fan of an artist on imeem, a station for that artist will automatically be available to them through imeem for Android. A user can also find a record of their mobile listening history by logging in to their imeem account, where all those songs are available for free on-demand streaming.
