Social networking sites could be in for ban in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after its government decided to block Orkut.com following reports that the site contains sexually explicit material and is being used for immoral activities.
ArabianBusiness.com reports that the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of the UAE issued a formal letter to its Internet service providers to block the site after receiving complaints about objectionable materials.
UAE recently lifted a ban on MySpace and YouTube.
