December 26, 2022 By Cristina Ledesma

U.S. soldiers are using TextAway.com’s service to keep in touch with family and friends while abroad. TextAway.com allows soldiers to enjoy fast real-time communication by text messaging family and friends from any internet-connected computer.

TextAway.com is a global web portal that offers internet users the ability to send and receive free text messages while online. The website offers cool tricks like: free text messaging, group messaging, mobile invites, and the capability to receive replies via email, mobile phone or the web.

TextAway.com allows the soldiers to choose the type of reply they receive (email or text message inbox). When family or friends receive a text message on their mobile phone, they can reply immediately and the response is sent to the soldier’s email inbox or text message inbox. TextAway.com also allows users to store mobile contacts and use them to send free text messages quickly to a single person or multiple individuals with U.S. mobile phones.

Bitstream releases BOLT browser to mobile phones of all types

December 26, 2022 By Dennis Bouchand

boltBitstream Inc. announced the public beta of BOLT, a mobile browser built for speed and completely optimized for mobile phones. It provides a desktop-like view of web pages on even the most basic feature phones.

One month ago Bitstream began offering BOLT in a private beta that included more than 30,000 users around the world. From the data collected and comments received over the past month Bitstream made improvements to the user experience and further optimized BOLT by adding device-specific features and making pages load even faster.

BOLT features unrivaled speed of routinely 25 percent faster, and as much as 50 percent faster, than the next fastest competitor in speed tests. BOLT is also both optimized to conserve battery life, and to minimize data transmissions allowing people to browse longer without recharging batteries while consuming less data.

The BOLT mobile browser lets people view full websites as they would on a personal computer. It does so using a patented magnification technology that smoothly scales both text and images, letting users navigate to specific sections of large web pages and then zoom in to display clear text and images that look crisp on even small mobile phone screens. BOLT also supports streaming video from popular websites such as YouTube, vids.myspace.com, video.yahoo.com, blip.tv, dailymotion.com, and metacafe.com.
