Web-Based Media Player Muziic Lets You Play and Organize YouTube and Vevo Music

Say goodbye to pesky and obtrusive ads whenever you want to listen to free songs featured on music videos on YouTube. Likewise, say goodbye to those annoying country-specific restrictions that renders most songs practically un-streamable if you live in Timbuktu. Thanks to new site Muziic you can now enjoy those two benefits brought by the free Internet.

First started as a Windows application, Muziic then lets you organize and manage music collections from songs featured on YouTube videos. Think of it as the Windows iTunes for YouTube, that also lets you rip mp3s to YouTube.

To make its service more relevant, Muziic recently launched a web-based media player. And while they were at it, they brought along music video start-up Vevo which went public recently.

So, what do this bring us, free music loving Internet citizens?  Free songs, as in millions of them with accompanying videos to boot.

And then what else? Muziic also lets you register on the site so that you can create your music playlist. It has a very efficient search engine which offers direct song access similar to iTunes does. For those who couldn’t live without sharing things with their friends to social networks, Muziic also just recently rolled out a Facebook app. How about an iPhone app? Not yet but it’s coming pretty soon, I hope.

An online service as good as this is not without a glitch of course. For one thing, Muziic removes country-restriction to video contents from Vevo. While this may seem ok for now, Vevo is said to be looking at it right now. Hopefully, they won’t do something to spoil Muziic’s party.

Everybody Counts on Vevo to Salvage What is Left of the Music Video Industry

January 2, 2023 By Arnold Zafra

Pardon the momentary glitch a couple of hours after its official launch, but Vevo is up and running right now (if you’re in the U.S. at least since the site is not available in most countries). And judging by the way its launch gig went and the support it is getting from major industry players including music artists, it looks like Vevo is headed for big time success.

What if you have Bono, Lady Gaga, John Meyer, Mariah Carey  and Adam Lambert promoting it? Plus Google’s Eric Schmidt  allowing all views of Vevo videos on YouTube to be attributed to Vevo? It’s a clear shot to video site stardom, right?  It looks like Vevo might become the no.3 video site next to YouTube and Hulu perhaps.

Vevo executives expect their site to get more than 400 million video views in the site’s first month of operation. While Mariah hopes Vevo can help salvage something that used to be amazing. Advertisers are joining in as well with the likes of AT&T, McDonalds and other industry players coming on board.

Could Vevo give Hulu a run for its money? Only time can tell. What Vevo needs to do right now is to prepare its site for unsurmountable traffic in the days to come and avoid downtimes as much as possible because that will somehow determine the site’s future.

VEVO Seals Deal with EMI, Goes Live Tomorrow Night

January 2, 2023 By Arnold Zafra

With partners such as Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and now also EMI Music, it seems like new premium music video and entertainment service Vevo, is off to a good start. Vevo is launching tomorrow and is aiming to capture music fans with professionally created video content.

A new generation of music fans and perhaps those who belong to the MTV generation will be available to enjoy a large selection of premium music content from a wide array of chart-topping artists. Vevo aims to follow the success of YouTube but for premium music content.

Take note, VEVO President and CEO, Rio Caraeff says their premium online music service is much more than just high-quality videos but also an original programming that hopes to strengthen the connection between artists and fans through a dynamic and engaging experience.

Vevo service debuts on this site – http://vevo.com. The site is currently closed and if you try to check it out, you will be redirected to the Vevo blog. In the meantime enjoy the promo gig by 50 Cent smashing up some old TVs. Surely a radical and violent way of promoting its upcoming service. Does this predict how VEVO is going to be once it officially launches? Hope not.
