Truveo updates iPhone Video Search Application

September 25, 2023 By Dennis Bouchand Leave a Comment

Truveo has released a second generation version of its video search application for the iPhone, with new features and additional videos. Through the Truveo Mobile Video Search for iPhone app, users can now access more than 145 million videos1, making it the most comprehensive video search offering on the iPhone. In addition, a special “What’s Hot” section features popular videos from across the web.

The latest features added to Truveo’s iPhone application include:

• Intelligent Query Completion, which assists users by suggesting key words or even television shows. For example, if a user enters “stock” into their Truveo application on their iPhone, the query completion engine will not only suggest Truveo’s “stock footage” category, but will also suggest shows related to investing.

• The ability to easily discover related video content.

• Improved sharing.

• Advanced sorting.

• The ability to search for videos by length.

Truveo first launched its free video search app for the iPhone in July 2008, and to date, users of Truveo’s iPhone application have viewed 3 million videos. The company expects usage to continue growing as it adds features to its iPhone application.

The updated Truveo video search app is available now for free to users worldwide from Apple’s App Store on iPhone and iPod touch.

The Washington Post’s web site will produce live video coverage of President-elect Barack Obama’s Inaugural events on January 20th anchored by The Post’s Chris Cillizza, David Maraniss and Dana Priest.

The show will kick off when the Obama family leaves the Blair House. Cillizza will be on-site at the Capitol’s Inaugural platform anchoring the ceremony. Lois Romano and other Post political reporters will interview guests from the Capitol grounds and Inaugural events around the city.

The Post’s political and metro teams, including Dan Balz, David Broder and Kevin Merida, in addition to Newsweek Editor Jon Meacham and special political guests will provide analysis and in-depth reporting from the Post’s newsrooms.

Reporters, using cell phone video cameras, will feed interviews onto the live show. Talking with people at the parade and on the National Mall, they will capture what is expected to be one of the largest Inaugural events in the nation’s history.

A discussion forum below the video player will let users ask questions and interact with the hosts. In addition, users have opportunities to share their perspectives on the Inauguration in a special, user-generated video feature. Users can submit videos using the web application Seesmic.

The live video will be available beginning at 8 am ET on January 20th and will conclude after the Inaugural parade.
